I have a Sony TRV-230E Digital 8 camera. I have not been able to export DV back to tape.
The symptoms are:
1. It tries to export back to tape, and it may work OK for a couple of seconds but then the camera stutters quite badly. When played back to couple of secs that didn't stutter looks OK, but then get either blank screen, or semmingly random number of pixels
2. Sometimes it doesn't even do the first few seconds, it just starts stuttering immediately.
I have tried numerous things to make this work. I've checked DMA on the drives, removed all other PCI cards except firewire, defragged hard drives etc etc etc. I've searched MS site and found some notes about Win9x but not XP.
The firewire card I have is unbranded. It uses the TI TSB43AA22 chip.
Any suggestions would be appreciated![]()

I had similar problems. I restarted my computer right before I exported and the problems went away.

Yeah I've tried that too. Killed all unnecessary processes in task manager etc.
I'm wondering if it's my cheap firewire card. Obviously the system isn't streaming the data to the camera quick enough, I just haven't worked out which subsystem is at fault...._________________
