Hi All,
I'm new to this so please excuse me if i come across as dumb, i have a question is it possible whilst watching an avi movie on the internet in Windows Media player to record it, i've tried to download the link before the movie starts but with no joy..... if it helps i think the site uses a Microsoft Active-x player/software ....

There are some programs like "ASFRecorder" that will do this for you.
Quite a lot of online movies are protected against this by issuing a licence before you can play them, but you need to search around the internet to find programs that will also bypass this.
Sometimes its a simple matter of setting WMP to save the file before it is played, then you will already have a copy on your hard drive
Other methods used are "capture programs" that capture sections of the screen and record the movie
