I downloaded a divx movie with a Japanese audio track, but lucky for me, the subtitles were made available with it. However, I've never inserted subs before, so I'm kind of lost. I checked out the subtitles help area on the "edit" link, but there were only tips on *.srt (subrip), *.sub (microDVD), *.sub (subviewer), *.ssa (Sub Station Alpha), *.sub (vobsub, requires a *.idx too). No .txt inserter was to be found. I guess my question is, what program should I use to insert the subtitles from the txt file; or, could I just rename the file to one of these different file extensions and use VirtualDub or VobSub?

I have had that ptoblem before too and this is how I solved it.
I just download a random subtitle with .srt extensions, then just cut all the text in my .txt subtitle and paste it over the .srt subtitle.
Easy!
