I can copy and play vcd movies on my panasonic dvd player fine. I just copied a svcd and tried to play it on my dvd player but it playes sporatic stoping on each frame for a second then moving to the next frame. pressing fast foward once seems to help only for a minuet ok??? What could be the cause?

Does your dvd player support svcd's? if yes what bitrate do they support? check the dvd player section to see on this site.

I have a panasonic cv51 player and it does the same thing when playing svcd, this site says that it will play svcd, and it sure as heck trys, but no dice. I am testing different bitrates and it seems to be getting better but I haven't hit the magic number yet.
I have tried both the standard and nonstandard directory structures and it recognized and played both. So I believe it will do it. I will keep looking and report back if successfull!
