Extremely Fast motion, nothing but blocks ? IS there a way ?

Hi, I have a dvd of some concert footage, with very, very fast motion cut scenes, strobe lights, and color changes, and I am capturing with DVD2SVCD using CCE to do VBR at SVCD Standard except audio i think (2530 w/192audio 48Khz), i've tried everything from 2pass vbr up to 10pass vbr, and although I notice a difference, there is still just pure blocks in some of the scenes. Looks really bad. IS there a way I can get it so there is no blockyness, get enuf information into those scenes ?

a XSVCD with higher bitrates will help (or better yet, an actual DVD) but that doesn't work with all players, and it means less minutes per disc. Good luck.

I'm not promising anything, since this sounds like very difficult source material. But you could try reading this thread at Doom9 and trying the Avisynth Blockbuster filter. It's designed specifically to address the problem you're experiencing.
