You should not need to do this (NTSC->Pal that is). Make sure you are not able to play the orginal before attempting this as it is a complex and time consuming process.
If you still want to go I ahead I may be able to help. I have not done this with DVD-rips but have done it with divx files (before realising I didn't need to!) and the process is similiar. -
Think you may be right Bugster
Will leave the conversion job for now.
I can do Pal rip perfect every time.
I use
smartripper
ifoedit 0.88
dvd2avi
tmpeg
dead easy to get the file size down using this method
Any help with the settings in tmpeg (which I want to use) to do NTSC encoding as I can't seem to get a smooth playback or sync with NTSC DVD's ?
Do i use force film in dvd2avi ?
Do i use 3:2 pulldown in tmpeg ?
Think I must have tried everything now. -
I havn't done much ripping myself but have converted a lot of divx movies using Tmpgenc. So I can't answer your 1st question as such. All I can say is use the NTSC DVD template that is supplied with TmpGenc. Also load the unlock.mcf template from the extras directory AFTER loading the DVD template. If you DID use force film, then set the encode mode on the video tab of the settings dialog to "3:2 pulldown on playback" and the framerate to 23.976 (internall 29.97). Set rate control etc how you prefer.Originally Posted by raze1000
If you do NOT use force film then set encode mode to interlace and framerate to 29.97fps.
These settings should work ok.
