  1. I installed firewire card etc to capture from my DV camcorder - thanks for all the advice re burners etc. Now, though, my PC won't shut down, or rather shuts when I tell it to, then immediately re-starts. I've uninstalled the firewire, and the PC works perfectly again, so its def the prob here - anyone else had this prob and knows what to do??

    Cheers

  2. Go in your BIOS and change" wakup on lan activity"

    Firewire is a network connection

  4. While the PC is booting, look on the screen if it says:

"Press Delete for setup", or it could say "Esc key" or "F10" etc.

  6. As there are so many Bios chips, it is hard to tell exactly how.

Try in the "power managment" menu

On my Phonix-bios I had a setting called "PowerOn by PCI card"

Try to change that one, or other settings like" reboot if powerfailure" etc.
