... why? The MPEG-2 file (that it assuerd me would fit on 1 80-min CD) was 740MB, but the img/bin (yes, tried all sorts of conversions) wind up at 860MB every time. Any thoughts?

  2. I am having the same problem. I set up ffmpegX to convert .vob --> svcd, and to fit it onto 2 80-min CD's. However, the resulting .img files are 1GB a piece!

I think that might be that youve forgotten to change the Profile to XSVCD / Generic MPEG2 and the same under Mux as... in Tools. If you don't do that, ffmpegx will force a bitrate of 2500 which makes the file much larger than you might have wanted.

    Just a thought
