Da Vinci Timeline/Rendering Glitches

Hello, I had difficulty registering on Blackmagic to ask their forum so I decided to ask here. I am currently cutting together a YouTube video using Da Vinci Resolve but keep getting boxy glitches while editing which sadly end up in my renders. I don't know if its cause of my video files or presets within the programs but I can't find a solution. I checked out a few YouTube videos on a few workaround options but none are working. I've attached some images to illustrate the issue. One shows a glitch while editing, second showing the glitch while in the Deliver section, third and fourth are specs on one of my video files. My computer is a HP 17 Laptop and I'm running on Windows 11. Any suggestions???

Looks like a decode error; the editor is having a problem reading the source file.
If it's from Youtube, is it AVC? VP9? AV1 ?

If it's using hardware-accelerated or "smart" rendering, try turning that off.

Should I look for that in the editing section or the rendering section?? Only asking cause this glitch appears in my editing timeline.

Are you sure it's not a problem with the file. Have you tried other YouTube videos with a similar spec?

The files are not from YouTube. I’m editing it FOR YouTube. My files are from an SD card recorded from a video camera.

Does DaVinci Resolve accept MKV files?
Create an MKV from your MTS source by dropping the source file into mkvtoolnix GUI.
Test with that.
Regarding the comments made about HW acceleration, I'd be checking the settings to see what DR uses to decode the source

I believe it accepts MKVs. I did do some experimenting with AVIDemux the other night trying to create alternate files. Some worked, some actually made Da Vinci crash. Guess I could try again.

Apparently Davinci's advice is to run off an intermediate file using a lossless or near lossless codec
and use that as your source file

Remux you source mts with tsmuxer and use the remuxed video in Davinci resolve

Did you notice similar glitches/problems in Avidemux (or other editors) when moving/viewing the video on the timeline/preview?
Also try the latest nightly updates/builds if you haven't already done so.

No the OG files seemed fine when skimming through AVIDemux. I’ve only been seeing these issues with Da Vinci.

I’ll try to experiment with your guys suggestions later on today. So far the only semi workaround I’ve found is to render my video in sections and use AVIDemux or any video joining software and render all my exports into one video but the video I’m currently working on is kinda lengthy so that might be overkill.

Do you have any FX nodes on in the color page? Any adjustments of any kind? I get a similar effect when mixing certain nodes that don't behave with one another quite often. DCTL's and plugins mixed with built-in adjustments? If it is in color where this glitch is coming from, you will have to adjust the settings until they behave with each other.

Nope no effects. I’ve only been cutting together the clips I have.

I'd probably start by first converting the clips to a format that DaVinci tends to like more. If the glitches are pretty consistent, you should only have to convert a couple of clips and see if it has the problem with those before converting the rest. ProRes422/HQ generally is pretty friendly with all non-linear editing programs including DaVinci. As to what program to use to do that, you could use Hybrid or Staxrip which once you have your settings the way you'd like, you should be able to just convert entire batches of clips. You probably also could use FFMPEG or other similar tools to batch process the clips as well. AI actually doesn't do too bad with suggesting FFMPEG scripts if you know what settings you want. Format conversions for HD content I believe is a lot more straightforward than SD content that is still interlaced, so it shouldn't be too bad. The main setting would be to determine what your final resolution will be after export from Davinci, might as well pre-convert all of your clips to that resolution and frame rate before importing them.
