Hello everyone,
I’m trying to make my Pioneer DV-400V-K (Region 5, 220–240 V) region-free so it can play my Region 2 DVDs.
I have spent many hours searching, but all the old download links for the Håkan/StM firmware (YGB8827A, StM V3.0/V3.1) seem to be dead.
I’m also looking for the original Pioneer IR region-free files (Pronto HEX, LIRC, Codebases.zip, WAV files, or any other service IR files).
If anyone still has any of these files archived, I would be extremely grateful if you could share them.

This is a good DVD player but it has been many years since it was on the market (2007 ?) and today there are no new standalone DVD players by the manufacturers because of streaming videos alternative.
As you spent many hours searching then it is very unlikely that you will find a firmware to make it Region 2 DVD playable, but I wish you good luck in this regard.
You can try buying a used DVD standalone player from eBay (not just Pioneer) in countries that uses PAL Region 2 DVD like Germany, France and the UK. Shipment cost might be a problem, depending on your location.
