It's 2026 and I need to author a DVD-9!

It's been a while, but I find myself in the position of needing to author a DVD-9 for duplication, possibly for replication! In the distant past, I used Adobe Encore, but that's long since gone. What, if anything, do people use today? I don't remember much, but I do remember the layer break needing to be set properly otherwise lots of trouble with discs. For burning dvd-9 use imgburn software and Verbatim AZO DVD+R DL for burning to.

For authoring dvdstyler works for me .imgburn on windows for burning as it is the king of setting layer breaks etc. far as replication format that may put a kink in the process as I dunno what format they need etc, I only know how to do iso and video_ts folders. Before you get too far I would see what format a potential duplication house requires

Would you post a more detailed summary of what you are trying to do ?
For example are you creating your own documentary.
Do you already have the video input source & need to convert that to DVD compliant format ?

Duplication is no problem. ImgBurn should do that fine even if you want more copies.
As long as you do them one at a time from each ImgBurn GUI you have open.

Replication of many copies is a different matter.

Encore was one of the better authoring tools back then. It’s a shame it’s gone.
Since you mentioned replication, I’d check with the plant first to see what master format they require. That can affect the authoring workflow.
Imgburn is still commonly used for burning. For regular menu-based DVD projects, I’ve used cisdem DVD burner.

If we go for replication, then I need to produce the DDP image files based on what I'm reading. Adobe Encore, and DVD Architect can produce those. I'll see about getting one of those programs, somewhere..

I still use Encore when the need arises, which isn't very often.
Years ago, I purchased CS6 Production suite on disc. Installed it with no problems.
It's my understanding that if you have the software and serial you can still install and use it.
