Hi Fellow Rippers,
Just curious if TMPGenc plus can make a higher quality mpeg1 file possibly almost as good as 480 x480???
I seem to have many problems when it comes to making SVCD's in mpeg2 format ie( covert with Tmpgenc plus 2400bitrate ,burn with Nero 35min of video, when I try to watch cd in my standalone the lcd display on my DVD player reads 100min and will only play for about 1sec then screen goes black) Although when I watch Video with Windvd it plays fine!!!
Does anyone have any answers??
Thanks in advance.

how old is your dvd player? you dvd player might not support svcd and thats why it won't play.

It all depends on your DVD player. You could make a XVCD (non-standard VCD) if your player accepts it - this means you can adjust what you like when creating your Mpeg1 and you can get a very good quality if you set up high bitrates and resolution. You could also demux your SVCD in TMPGEnc to put a VCD header on it if your player does not support SVCD, this method fools DVD player into thinking that it is playing a VCD. All the HOW TO's are on this site.

 Regards.
