Hello, this is my first post.
My Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 is almost unusable these days so I started to use Video proc and I'm very impressed with this free software which is very good for my few and now rare video editing needs.
With Adobe I was used to drop clips on the time line and they did not stick to each other which was quite useful to put group of clips before assembling them.
When I tried to do this with video proc, I just couldn't. It has a little magnet on the top left and begining of the time line that can be switch on or off but this did not make any difference as my added clips kept sticking to the end of the other clips on the left.
I wonder if it is possible to do this. Thank you for any findings about it.

It's a sofware on the net by a company called DIGIARTY. It also has a file converter (not free) I can see entries in this forum re-this converter. And this is why I joined it.
They do have a comprehensive online guide with many videos within. But I can't see the explanation to this situation.
There help via email does not seem to be very helpful and I understand this as it is a free software.

Weird, if it’s already off and clips are still sticking, maybe there's another setting or limitation in the software. Are sure you turned it off?

love your head banger thing! but yes I tried it many times. I used videoProc very close to premiere pro after too many things went wrong with my project in Adobe. So maybe I mixed the 2 events. Once I remember dumping groups of clips on my timeline with a space between them then I was not able to do it 'anymore'...Perhaps I never could in VideoProc...
The video guide in VP regarding the magnet function is rather thrifty and does not explain enough...IMHO.

I used VideoProc a few times and it seemed ok, at least don't remember issues like that, that wasn't long tho, tried DaVinci after that, and then tried Movavi. Anyway... You probably might need to work around it by leaving placeholder gaps or using multiple tracks temporarily if the clips keep sticking but this seems to be kinda annoying, probably better to try some another option

Tx for the few tips. I like the placemates more than the extra tracks which may be a little to crowded. I should have thought of it as I already created one to manipulate texts on it. (I wanted the text to start small to bigger near the half mark and shrink it again to any direction with the fade in, fade out. But couldnot achieve it with VideoProc. But I can live without it as I do very little editing these days).
I was a little obsessed with the magnet as I thought it should work....
