  1. I am a newbie to ripping DVDs/BRs. I want to rip my library so that I can create a media server at home. For my first attempt, I ripped a BR that I own using MakeMKV > Handbrake > iFlicks on my Mac Studio. The video looks fine. However, the audio does not sync accurately with the actor's lips. What did I do wrong?

Try playing on different devices to see is it any different than when on the media server,

  3. Good idea. But let me add more details. I don't have the media server setup just yet. What I did was add the movie to my iTunes and then watched it thru my Apple TV. I don't know if this makes a difference.

I occasionally found that playing video on laptop was different av sync than on TV and realised that I was chasing my tail in attempting to "fix" it.
