    I would check how your SATA connection to the burners is connected/configured?
    I don't know what new motherboard you have now, sometimes there are different types of SATA connections available.
    Also check your BIOS how the SATA ports are configured (RAID, RST, AHCI), normally it should be set as regular AHCI.

    its strange how it was operational before the w blue screen and the service people playing with correcting windows faults

    sata is set to 0 = burner 3= burner
    4 sata on board
