Just started trying to make an xVCD with it, because it will do DVD style menus with motion and sound..says it supports VCD, SVCD and DVD...think its version 1.0 of DVD Workshop.
Only the problem is, it apparently will only do standard VCD or SVCD...because when I go to finish it keeps rencoding the movies that I wanted to stay in nonstandard VCD. Is there a way around that? Or is the program use less, cause I dont want standard VCD...takes two discs for every movie...all my movies are on one disc and I am happy with them...I just want better menus than Nero can offer. What's a good program for this?

  2. I just started using DVD Workshop, and as far as i can see, you cant make non-standard VCD's. If you want to make good menus, but dont want to be in vcd standard...then i dont know what to tell you. VCDEasy is a good program, but i've found dvd workshop to be alot easier and feature filled. I suppose if i knew how to use vcdimager with straight xml i could do dvd workshop style menus, but that takes too much learning, and why bother, when dvd workshop does it for me. If youd like to do a bit of learning, try playing with vcdimager.

You can make XSVCD's with it. You have to keep the resolution set to 480x480 with a higher bitrate. I make them with a bitrate of 4000, and they look like a DVD.
