What is the best firewire card to use with the Canopus ADVC-100?
I know there can be issues with some cards.
Also, what is best software to use for capture of SVHS with the Canopus?

I have heard good things about the cards from ADS technologies. I use a couple of their drive enclosures, and like them very much. As far as capture software, definitely get DVio (it's free and small, so try it) http://www.carr-engineering.com/dvio.htm . Also try Edit Studio from http://www.puremotion.com they have a free demo. Use an OS that allows NTFS, I prefer win2000, and format all your drives as NTFS.
Oh yeah, almost forgot... It is possible that you will need a Time Base Corrector (TBC) to stabilize the sync from your Svhs machine. But try without first. If you need one look for the Datavideo TBC-1000, or one of their better models.Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they?
