    Hi

    I have a Grundig 2280 stereo Video2000 format VCR from Germany that enters fast forward as soon as tape is inserted. Function controls do not respond. Anyone familiar with this design and fauts common with this model that could cause this. Thanks

    Get access to the mechanical contacts of those transport buttons. You may have to remove the front panel to do so. Then zap them with contact cleaner. Does that help?

    Doing that now. Removed dead clock battery because it was starting to leak. Must replace it.
