    I have a nice DVD-ROM and I was wondering what program is best to do it in, and if there are any dangers in ripping (damages to the disc, player). Any information you have would be helpful.

    You may want to look at dvd2svcd...you don't mention what you want to convert it to, but this program is fairly easy to use.
