I posted this question before, but, this time I want to hear from Dazzle owners.

A friend of mine has the Dazzle Digital Video Creator Parallel Port, and while he love it, he has a problem.

When he tries to make a still image(s) from the mpeg file he saved onto his computer he made from a (either recoded live or from a TV) videotape that he uploaded using Dazzle all he gets is a image full of horizontal lines.

Now, we have learned form other that the problem lies in interlaceing, And deinterlaceing is the solution. But, is there not a way to do this with-in Dazzle? It seems to that if deinterlacing is so necessary to get a still image why doesn't Dazzle say so in it manual.

And not being forced to use a seperate application just to get one lone image?

I have Dazzle DVC(USB), is your friend using MovieStar (the software bundled with Dazzle)?
I have this problem before, but this problem can be rectified by select the correct capture options.
    I use MovieStar version 4.2.
In picture tab, select "moving scene" in Quality options.

    Hope this help!

No I don't think its MovieStar, but, the application that was bundled before it.

We updated it to version 2.6, yet it did not help.

We also have it set to "moving scene," but, it too does not help.

We're waiting for Dazzle to replay to a e-mail we sent last Wednesday, however, given the stories that other have told in this forum about Dazzle's support we could be waiting untill "the crack of doom!"
