  1. I am very new to this and I'm trying to burn a video to start off. At the bottom of VCDEasy it says that my ASPI is not valid, however the disk seems to burn. When I try to view what is on the disk in windows explorer the disk is blank.

Also I'm a little confused about the CD Reader on the CDRDAO tab, should it be selected?

Attached is my log file, please let me know what I'm doing wrong. Thanks!

Quite a lot of people have problems with getting that program to work with their own writer. Some people solve it with using the Adaptec ASPI installer, sometimes with the /FORCE command (See readme)

I'm running XP and installed the special ASPI version for XP. Even after that, VCDEasy still says my ASPI doesn't seem to be valid. However, VCDEasy works fine. Have you tried burning a VCD since you installed the ASPI layer?

  6. Yes, I've tried to burn a VCD and it seems to work. However, I think that I'm having a compatiability problem with my DVD Player. I have a Toshiba SD2109 and it gives me a disk error everytime I try and play my new VCD. Thanks for your help.

  7. I used the force ASPI drivers, that are linked from here somewhere. Before that, CDRDAO would say the same thing about my writer. I'd recommend you try out Force ASPI, too.

Did you use the /FORCE ?
You may not be doing anything wrong, but never get it to work I don’t see what the fuss is about, Nero is better anyway, even though I don’t use it myself for VCD

  9. From your logfile

Starting write simulation at speed 4...
That's why the CD is blank anyway. Use ForceASPI, like others have said, to get ASPI Seems Valid: Yes.
    Then all should be well.
