Hi, I am new to the forum but I have been visiting here many times over the last few years when I need answers.. I can't seem to find the help on this issue so I figure this would be the place to ask.
I'm new to burning blu-ray discs, and haven't yet authored any. I have, however, authored countless DVDs over the last decade. I've always used DVD-lab for this. Now to author blu-ray discs I have heard that TMPGEnc Authoring Works will do the job right. Is this the best solution?
Now for the issue that I am having. I have burned several concert BDMV discs that I have downloaded from torrent sites. All are fan-created stuff. I was able to burn these with ImgBurn with no problems. Then I got to these two that are having issues. I have burned several times now with ImgBurn (and even tried Nero at the authors suggestion) but they won't play on my Sony BD3200 like the others that I burned. They won't play at all. Now what is different with these is that they are compilations of shows. Upon closer examination, I noticed that the author has included some clips that are 720p and some are 1080p, on the same disc. They are also different frame rates. The guy says that no one else has said they had any trouble burning them, which is odd. Yes, I did use ImgBurn to creat the 'Certificate' folder since it was missing. Still won't play. The last thing I tried was using BDReMaker but still didnt want to play even though the program got rid of the menus and replaced them. Is this because of the different file formats on the same disc?? That is the only thing I can find different about these from the ones I burned that will play. I know if I did this on a DVD it would almost surely not play, but like I said, I am new to BD authoring. Should I try to re-author them after re-encoding them all to 1080p or 720p? That seems wrong, unless there is some other way. They are supposed to already have a nice menu, so it would be nice to salvage this project somehow. Just not sure where to start.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, if anyone can point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for that link, that's a handy program to have.. here are two examples of the difference in streams. the first is 1080i and the next is 720p.. is this acceptable for a blu-ray player? I have not tried powerdvd, but when i loaded the folder in vlc it played and the menu comes up too. I burned another few blu-rays today, and the ones that are a single show will play on my player. This compilation of shows still won't play, that is the only reason i suspect the different size streams and/or different frame rates.
