I got married this week and my sister recorded the whole event so the bride's folks at home could watch it as well.
Now the MP4 won't play on any device. The feedback is usually something like "Does not recognize file format" (VLC, Windows movie maker).
I tried several recovery programs (File Repair, FormatFactory) but they do not find the error or do not recognize the movie in the first place.
The file is around 10 minutes and 1,43gb in size. Can anybody help?

You wont find any good free repair tool.
I would try Graus Video repair tool. Try the trial first. You select a working mp4 from same camera, the broken mp4 and it will try repair it(the trial will only repair half the movie). -
It's probably easier to just get remarried.
