MKV subtitles on HDTV

hi all im new here
happy new year
i always watch MKV files using my USB flash but im having troubles with arabic subs, all languages including english work perfectly fine except arabic, i can see them way to the bottom so that some of the subs disappear under the frame of the TV.

i use Mkvmerge GUI to merge my sub to the video because my Sony LED cant run .srt files among with the video to i have to merge the subs with the video.

is there anything i can do the change the position of the subs or to fix the positioning/layout of the subs on my TV?

No. You can't change any position in srt subs. They are just text. You must adjust the position in the tv subtitle settings.

Or try make ssa/ass subtitles with position/font/etc-settings using for example aegisub and see if they work on your tv.

Or last hardcode the subtitles in the video.

can i hardcode the subs using mkvmerge gui? seems like my tv dodoesn't have the option to change the subs position

Nope. You must reconvert with something like VidCoder.
