  1. I have an old tv that only accepts a 4 pin s video cable. I have a laptop that has a vga output. Is there a cable I can buy anywhere that allows me to connect my laptop to the tv? I went on eBay but I can't find the right one with s video input on one end and vga on another. I ended up buying one with an end that has a video output. I also tried buying a video converter but the picture come out bad. If there is cable out there, please let me know.

The question is what quality do you expect from an old TV?

Your TV has no speakers? S-Video is video only....no audio.

There is virtually no chance that a VGA to S-Video cable will work for your laptop. They are used with specific devices/video cards that can output an S-Video signal through a D-Sub connector. Your laptop is very unlikely to have such a video card.

A VGA to S-Video converter box is the only thing that can work. Note that you won't get a a high-quality picture using any of these devices, and smallish text may be unreadable on account of the low resolution. Below are two examples:

You need an audio cable to connect the laptop's headphone jack/line out to the TV:
