Hi Everyone,
So ive been trying to find some way of converting / viewing this "avi" file for the last couple of days,
This is the output of media info.
Code:General Complete name : 60HZ_INTRO_LRTF.AVI Format : AVI Format/Info : Audio Video Interleave Format settings : rec File size : 51.2 MiB Duration : 1mn 5s Overall bit rate : 6 520 Kbps Video ID : 0 Format : Duck 2 Codec ID : TM2X Codec ID/Info : Duck TrueMotion 2X Duration : 1mn 5s Bit rate : 6 168 Kbps Width : 640 pixels Height : 480 pixels Display aspect ratio : 4:3 Frame rate : 29.970 fps Bits/(Pixel*Frame) : 0.670 Stream size : 48.3 MiB (94%) Audio ID : 1 Format : PCM Format settings, Endianness : Little Codec ID : 61 Codec ID/Hint : ESS Technology Duration : 1mn 5s Bit rate mode : Constant Bit rate : 352.8 Kbps Channel(s) : 2 channels Sampling rate : 44.1 KHz Bit depth : 4 bits Stream size : 2.77 MiB (5%) Alignment : Aligned on interleaves Interleave, duration : 46 ms (1.39 video frame) Interleave, preload duration : 694 ms
These are the programs I have tried with the result of trying.
MPC-HC with TM2X Codec installed = instant crash
MPC=HC without TM2X Codec = plays audio only
MPlayer = instant crash
Gom Player = plays upside-down with no audio
Gom Converter = instant crash
ffmpeg = cant find the codec for the video, audio fine.
GSpot270a = plays video and audio, but still throws up error about audio codec.
MediaCoder = error 013, A video source error is encountered
FormatFactory = error 0x00000001
SUPER = error
Does anyone have any ideas of what I can use to convert this file?
It took me long enough to find the codec, but finding something that actually recognizes it that can do something with the file looks a million miles away.
Thank you for any help.
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays!

"TM2X Codec" <= hadn't read or heard of it thus far
Assuming it's a VfW codec --- have you tried to open the pesky AVI with VirtualDub -
That is the one program i know of that completely escaped my mind, thanks for the reminder I'll give it a shot.
EDIT:
This is the result.
Couldn't locate decompresser for format 'TM2X' (unknown)
VirtualDub requires a Video for Windows (VFW) compatible codec to decompress video,
DirecShow codecs, such as those used by Windows Media Player, are not suitable.Last edited by B1ueChr1s; 7th Oct 2014 at 12:06. Reason: Update

Would you mind uploading a copy of "60HZ_INTRO_LRTF.AVI" to this forum?

Many thanks
I managed to decompress the audio with FFmpeg, and open the video in VirtualDub with the VfW TM2X .dll
(please see attachments below). -
Far from that.
Where did you find the VfW TM2X .dll? -
*TM2X* is an "update" to TrueMotion 2.0 (fourCC=TM20).
It seems both the .AX file and the VfW codec are not compatible with the recent versions of DirectShow, though. -
All of the searching i did... and there is an entire directory full of goodies, Thank you for your help and for the link, it will come in handy
I could have swore i had ffdshow installed... but i just checked, and i didn't.
Anyway, thank you for the pointer
