I can't seem to get 16:9 to work

Hey all,
I've followed the tutorial here http://www.vcdhelp.com/sefy/?id=ClassicalGuide.html and have tried many times to get 16:9 ratio to work on my stand alone Sony DVD player. And yes, the DVD is 16:9.

The only thing i change is selecting the radio button on VCD easy to SVCD 1.0 instead of VCD. Is this the problem??

Just to help... When i play the MPEG created on my HDD, it's the same as i see on my TV, so i'm assuming the problem is not in the burning.

Can some one please help me

i think i found my own mistake....it was a TMPGEnc setting, thanks
