  1. Hi ya all

i got a few Qs if u could help i'll be very appreciate:

    - what tool to use for edit/remove commercial after captured?
    - i own Leadtek TV2000 XP. if any1 knows, whats the best setting for a VCD capturing?
    - i also planned to get somesort of back up movie that can be viewed on my PC only (like those readily available on P2P). which are better: mpeg or avi format?
    - last thing, my PC kinda far from the source, abt 5 mtrs. i tried long wires but didnt come out good. any way of workaround this?

Hi there, does your TV card not come with a TV capture program? If not, you could try using Virtual Dub, FreeVCR etc (freeware). The frame rates differ if your capturing for PAL 25fps or NTSC 29fps.

    Hope that helps

I capture to MJPEG , edit with VDUB and then compress with either CCE or TMPGenc.

For PC only viewing the mpeg-4 diriviatives are good ( divx, xvid, MSv8, Real, ... ). Personally I would recommend using mpeg-1 ( [x]vcd ) or mpeg-2 ( svcd, DVD ) since they are formats compatible with standalone players.

Runs under 20 ft should be ok in terms of wiring, mabye you should look at the other parts of your setup. Realtime VCD can be touchy, in your video capture software does the video LOOK bad?
