VCD widescreen PAL help!!!!!!!!

Hi guys can anyone help me.
Im a newbie at making VCD's.
Im trying to make a VCD backup of Mission Impossible 2 from a DVD(R2). It says it has Anamorphic Widescreen 2:35:1.
I want to make the VCD in widescreen. but each attempt has failed. I have created a working VCD just not in Widescreen so titles are cut off, and Im sure some of the picture has been cut off from the sides too. Im using TMPGEen to encode. can anyone help me please? can anyone give me a little guide through making a widescreen vcd for PAL?

Dvd with widescreen 2.35:1, actually is not true wide screen. If true widescreen should be 16:9, it's smaller screen that 2.35:1 (letter box). You say you created working VCD but title cut off. so what type of screen you get after encoded, full screen, right?

With 2.35:1 after you encoded you can have letter box or full screen type only. With 16:9 you can have all three format 16:9, 2.35:1 and full screen (you have to crop black bar out to get full screen). In TMPGEnc under advance setter, set Source Aspect Ratio to 16:9 NTSC/PAL (depends on what format of dvd) Then set video arrange method to Full screen if you want full screen or Full screen (keep aspect ratio) if you want to preserve original screen type (2.35:1) in this case.
