  1. Got a 700mb DivX avi, converted to SVCD (mpeg2) using CCE, after splitting the audio from the video and framserving with VirtualDub, but now I've got a 3.58Gb mpg !

    Anyone any idea why It's come out so large ?

    encoding is more based on time than size. if you have two 60 minute movies, one 200 megs the other 800 megs, and use a svcd template to encode, they'll both roughly be the same size. just try it and see. if you want a 700 meg movie to stay at around 700 megs, then you will have to adjust the bitrate(kb/s) so that you stay in the in the size that you want.


    question - if you encode at 2756 kb/s how many minutes do you expect to fit on one cdr. fell free to use your caculators if you want to.
