  1. A friend asked me to take a look at her VCR. There was a tape stuck in, and the power and tape in LEDs were solid, and the timer LED was flashing. I heard a buzzing noise whenever I pressed eject, but the tape never came out. I took the tape out by hand, and when I was testing the VCR with one of my test tapes, the same thing happens. Whenever it does this, the whole unit freezes; it won't even turn off. Any ideas?

  3. So, I find that leaving it unplugged for a few hours allows it to accept a tape. When I put a tape in, it wraps the tape around the head, but the head does not start spinning. Then, the VCR shuts off. When you turn it back on, the motor starts buzzing, then it turns off again. I tried helping it along, and it seemed to work. The arms retracted, but the tape wasn't sucked back in so it effectively ate my tape. It ejected, and right as I was about to grab it, it sucked the cassette back in, causing even more damage to the tape itself. That was when I unplugged it and took the tape out by hand. The tape is fine, but I really want to know whats going on with the VCR.
