  1. What is the best free program to use to convert videos made with the HTC One to play on a PC or Apple laptop? What is the best video and audio setting to use?

    Nothing. It records to H.264 MP4 files that are easily playable on either platform.

  3. Thanks for the reply. It must be an issue with my computer. The video plays, but the video is in slow motion while the audio is regular speed. I am using a Latitude D800 laptop with VLC as the video player. Could it be my laptop, which is about 7 years old, cannot play the videos off the HTC One correctly?

    Very much so. I'm surprised your 2GHz Pentium M doesn't choke on HD YouTube videos (or maybe it does). CTRL+SHIFT+ESC when you are playing the video in VLC and check CPU usage.
