I burnt a couple of movies onto CD-RW media, now i am trying to burn new movies on to the CD-RW using Nero.
Nero tells me that the CD-RW are not empty and asks if it should clear them, yes I say.
The problem is that when Nero starts to burn the new movies it fails saying that there is a write error!
I have burnt those movies onto new unused CD-RW with no problem, but i thought the whole point of CD-RW was that they could be used again!

Have you tried using the function seperately from the menu rather than when you burn a movie ? Nero has some sort of intelligence in it that knows if its a CDR/CDRW and what speed it should be written at. If this method fails (from the menu) - then I suggest lowering the burn rate to its lowest to see if that makes any difference (shouldn't as if it burn once then it should burn again at the same speed). As a side - is the disc relatively scratch free / clean - may make a difference if it's been well used ...

Thanks for that.
How would I use the function seperately?
I have tried the lower burn rates, make no difference I afraid.
However I have looked at the CD's and although they have only been
used once, they do have some finger prints on them, hmmmmmmm,
could this be the answer are they that delicate?
What is the best method of cleaning without scratching?I will never learn -
Just select 'recorder' from the menu and then 'Erase ReWritable'.
To clean them - just use a clean SOFT cloth (cotton) and polish out the fingerprints from the inside of the disk to the outer edge ACROSS the 'grooves' so to speak. Do not clean it by going 'around' the disc - this will probably make things worse.
