i just want to know if i make backup copied of my dvd's how much quality is lost and if the titles, chapters and all that is on there.

depends on how you rip it.
Personally I rip with Smartripper and use stream processing to select only the main movie and english audio decode to seperate files. If the output comes out under 4.3GB I suck that into Spruce Up and create the chapters (you could just use the IFO created by smartripper but I choose not to) and maybe menues as well.
If the output is over 4.3GB I use ReMPEG2 to re-encode the video so it does fit. I recently re-encoded "The Mummy Returns" at around 60% of original quality and it still looks great.
