Is there some kind of audio software that analyze multi channel audio and generates a report of how much each speaker takes part, what is the average audio levels (db) and frequencies used and information like that?
For once, this would appear helpful in deciding whether or not i should use my 5.1 or receiver or just go with the TV. Cause i just saw a movie last week with DTS audio but sadly for the most part it sounded like stereo. It was an independent film release, so i guess they didnt bother with recording multichannel audio.

Maybe easier to find good dvd/blu-ray review sites that mentions something about the audio.

I hate to say it but why not just test it for yourself? I would think the simplest approach would be to watch a scene or two with some action and try to verify yourself if its true surround or not. Shouldn't be too difficult as you have already done that with the previous movie.

Tried audacity but fow can i handle dts audio? I tried opening the mkv file directly and didnt work. I then extracted mka with mkvtoolnix and it didnt work either. I even tried import raw of mka. Still nothing.

Get the ffmpeg source plugin for audacity. Then you can import audio directly from an MKV (or other A/V) file.

Ok thx for that. So as i suspected, Surround and lfe seem like they dont exist. Phew i thought i was the crazy one, but indeed i was correct on assuming this 5.1 was actually stereo (for the most part).
Other than that can i know exactly which channel is which cause everything appears as a single mono channel. Ok i can guess as much as the top 2 being front L/R the third being the center that has all the information, the last 2 that seem similar must be the surround and the fourth should be lfe. Any idea how to tell left and right(probably left comes first)? Do they always appear this way in audacity, or is the order random each time?
Waveform (DB) should be the one that shows audio level intensity, and spectrogram shows the frequencies? Any idea if and how i can get reports generated? I'm just into statistics, and this will be a nice test for me to see how audio is distributed within a movie.
