Unable to upgrade La Cie La cinema PlayHD

I have downloaded the firmware upgrade, which consists of a folder (PlayHD) containing 2 folders and several files.
I copied all these into a pen drive. When selecting the "upgrade firmware", the machine responds with "cannot find the firmware"
Asking La Cie support has been an exercise in futility so far. They seem to just copy from a script, not reading my specific questions.

I found the problem.
I am working on a Mac, and downloading the upgrade creates a folder, as described in my previous entry.
Downloading the upgrade on a PC (Windows) creates a .img file, which is then recognized by the PlayHD.
tech support directed me to copy the img file into a pen drive as the ONLY file in the drive.
None of this is specified in the documentation.
I like the machine, although not its interface, nor the documentation or tech support.
