  1. I am attempting to watch CNN.com live video of CNN or HLN and try truTV2Go.

It works fine in Windows 7 with Chrome with my cable company login info.

Yet for some reason which I can't figure out, on 2 separate PCs with Linux, my login info refuses to work.

Chrome and Firefox for some reason just go back to "Login" right after it looks like it's going to verify my info.

I even tried to "fake" my user-agent to Windows wondering if maybe they blocked Linux for some odd reason and nothing.

The information is difficult to find, but ONLY Windows and Mac are on the supported OS list, so you are out of luck with Linux. I am just speculating and this could be completely wrong, but one guess I have is that their service uses Flash and Flash has always been in a weird state under Linux. Adobe has abandoned the platform and it could be that TruTV2Go requires a version of Flash greater than the final Linux release.

  3. Thanks again.

Yea that must be what's going on.

Oddly enough my Linux version is like 11.2 while Windows was 11.3 so I'm surprised that small of a difference would matter.

But I just gave up for now and am using Windows, which all 3 browsers never fail logging in, IE (never really use IE but wanted to test), Firefox, and Chrome.

Just speculation again, but there may be ways to tell that you are really coming from Linux even if you fake the user-agent to spoof Windows and they may just disallow it. It could be that they lack the interest or maybe don't have the manpower to test under Linux so rather than deal with potential problems they just disallow it. Or it could be that for some reason they really do requie a version of Flash greater than the last Linux release and that's why it doesn't work.
