    I just saw the first two episodes last night, so they are showing Season 1 now. I probably have a few seasons before I have seen them all. I have noticed that by the end of the second episode there is no longer a side effect of getting cold when traveling through the gate. I knew that wouldn't last long. And some of the stuff they parodied in the "200" episode if from the first episode.

    Yep they ditched it.

    Just like in Back to the Future. The bit of the iced up Delorian after reentry. They just have it "frosty" later on but not caked.

    Actually he doesn't have a name in season 1.

    And the more interesting one was when Teal'c got hair in season 7 I think it was. WHenever he got the tritonan stuff (spelling?).

    It was retconned in both SG1 and BTTF, and in the same way: misalignment issues caused the cold.
    Equipment was tweaked to reduce the effect.
