  1. Hi

I have a divx that I am trying to convert to a VCD. The problem I am having is with the sound.

The divx used .ac3, so I followed the instructions and converted it using headAC3HE to a wav. I made the sample rate 44.1 ( I intailly have 48 which I thought was the problem).

I have a great quality .wav file and the original AVI, I load them into TMPGEnc, and when I go to preview, I get the picture but no sound. I am new to headAC3HE, but the wav file I made plays file through windows media player.

Please give me some of your wisdom.

.ac3 audio? tmpgenc should be able to handle it. i have decoded ac3 audio from a dvd once and tmpgenc encoded perfectly.

try to load the orignal divx file to tmpgenc.

There is no sound in preview Just encode a few min and stop, then check your .mpg

  4. Probably not t but in TMPGenc make sure the audio source is the wav from headac3e or wherever you got it, not from the vid file

  5. I have tried to encode a few mins and there is no sound. I am using the correct .wav file and the .avi file as the "source" inputs.

I think you have answered your own question. In situations like this, it's best to drink a lot more - then you just don't care any more. 8)
