Take a look at this Ebay seller:
http://shop.ebay.com/crabbydigital/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=25
He's offering completety free software for US $67.00 and he doesn't even have the decency to use the right names for the software.
Ex. 7z is called 'Zip/Unzip File Utility'
GIMP is called 'Professional Image Editor'
Kompozer is called WYSIWYG HTML Editor
Songbird is called Music Library Manager
VLC is called AnyFile Media Player
and so on... how many can you spot?
And all of the screenshots has been cropped so that the titlebar isn't visible.
What do you guys think about this?

Well if he gave you the actual names of the programs then you could just go and download them yourself and he couldn't charge you almost 70 bucks
Did you look through his feedback. He's actually sold several of those.
Pretty crappy if you ask me. The one thing I will give him credit for is that he did admit that they are all open source and at least he didn't take credit for any of the software.Donadagohvi (Cherokee for "Until we meet again") -
It does suck, but I suppose it's worth mentioning that the various licenses that open software uses do not forbid charging for media to distribute copies. So technically speaking it's not illegal. Not that anyone in the thread said it was, but I mention that simply to stop others from assuming that such behavior is illegal when it's not.

I'm going to set up a booth at a fair and sell discs for $20 a pop! hahahahahaaaaa.....it seems really slimy but really anyone who sells something for a profit is dolling it up and hiding their source. its just blatantly obvious to us for these products.

Slightly different situation then as personal download sources were somewhat rarer - not so many people had access to the internet etc.
The people who pay for this sort of thing simply do not know how or where to get it. So the seller takes advantage of this ignorance.
But he is equally taking extreme advantage in his pricing which goes beyond the spirit of the arrangement of placing this sofware on to CD etc for redistribution. -
If Ebay isn't your thing - he's even selling it at Amazon.com and softwaremunchers.com...
