    Hi everybody.

I am a new newbie when it comes to this site and to editing videos. I am a big movie fan and I have collected DVD movies for years. Now I want to enter into the Blue-ray area and have started to substitute all my old DVD titles with a Blue-ray version I buy in England. It is cheaper to buy the movies in England and many of the movies I want are not issued in Denmark where I live. The only drawback I have is that most of the movies not are subtitled in Danish. I am not good at language and therefore I am depending on the subtitles.
All my Blue-Ray movies are stored in Matroska format on my hard disc and I use Media Player Classic as my default player. I have tried to use a SRT subtitle from a DVD movie on one of my Blue-Ray movies but it did not work. “Google is your friend” but I have not been able to find anything about this topic on the net.
My question is now: How do I edit a SRT subtitle from a DVD movie, so I can use it on a Blue-ray movie? A good explanation will be appreciated.

    Cheers

Some things to think about using DVD subtitles with BRs is that the movies may not be the same version so the dialogue may not be the same. Also, the frame rate may not be the same so that would also affect the timing. In the US most Brs have a frame rate of 23.976. DVDs have a frame rate of 29. The initial timing timing may also be different. With one version the first subtitle may begin at 30 seconds in with another it may be at over 1 minute in. With SRTs all these things can be fixed with subtitle tools avail for download on this site.

Also many subtitle sites are avail for downloading SRTs. They will also specify where the subtitle came from. So if you pick the right one, it'll plug right in without any changes be needed.

    Dear Tony
Thank you for your fast reply. In Denmark we do not have the issue with different versions of a movie. I own more than 100 Blue-Ray movies and none of them are in a different version than the DVD version I own. I have allready tried to find danish subs on the net but it is very hard. There are not many people who speak this languge so the selection is very limited. Nevertheless I have found a couple of danish subs for Blue-Ray movie which not are issue in Denmark yet. It meens that somebody actually can change a DVD sub so it works on a Blue-Ray movie, but how do they do this??
    Regards
