Yeah, well, that explains why DivX' stocks are skyrocketing on the market right now. I knew something was afoot. At this moment of posting: DivX is up 24.9%, from $1.73, to $8.68.

Yeah, well, that wasn't MY math work, but a direct quote from here:

Actually that site says "DivX is up 24.9%, or $1.73, to $8.68", not "from $1.73, to $8.68" which is very different.
I'm not sure what to think about the news though. Could be good or bad. I guess time will tell. -
Divx recently acquired German MainConcept which is in many consumer and pro software apps. I hope these new owners don't cause damage or diversion from the pro end of the product line. This could affect Adobe, Sony, Grass Valley, Quantel, Telestream and others. Sonic has been a user of Mainconcept in the past.

purchased DivX, formerly a name you knew only as an illegal download enabling codecCorned beef is now made to a higher standard than at any time in history.
The electronic components of the power part adopted a lot of Rubycons. -

Yeah, that's why I read the headline to this thread and my immediate thought was "aw, ****, now MC too!"
I think Sonic has screwed up a lot of good software buy-outs. Prassi (RecordNow), for example.
Sonic Solutions is to software what Clear Channel is to radio. Simply evil.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)
