In addition to checking the compatibility list - note that the question may not be about your burner and your player. The software comes into play too. I have the DUR 120A, which comes with the neoDVD software. Disks burnt using neo does not play on my Pioneer DV-333, but disks burnt using Ulead DVD Workshop plays fine, Both +RW and +R.

There is apparently an update for neo, but it encodes all my mpegs with its own crappy mpeg encoder, so I do not use it.
