Hi i'm looking into buying a subcompact HD solid state video camera very soon. I have recently been interested in the Creative Vado model and the new Kodak series. I would like a well-balanced video cam that has good shooting for kids and pets in daylight. I am replacing a Sony DCR-PC100 that is about 10 years old now. It's a miniDV tape based video cam that I have to transcode and burn to DVD. I would now like to simply copy the video files on to a PC and create the campatible DVD from there. It should be a real time saver.

    Thanks in advance,

I had very good experience with the Sony Webbie, you can look to a video here : http://www.vimeo.com/6750839 .
If you shoot your vodeos with good light you'll be happy.
I have also the Toshiba Camileo S10 but the Sony Webbie is better for me both for camera software and video quality.

Also the new Kodak zi8 seems to be interesting.
