Hi you guys, it's been a long time! I'm back again to ask another question. I'm trying to split my own production to upload it at YouT... So I've decided to downloaded Yamb, but I'm experiencing some problems while trying to split a 40 min. file, 10 minutes each segment (a total of 4). First of all, I was getting a warning that said: Can't Find the MP4 Box - so I've also downloaded this too. Then, after configuring the whole thing, the proggie says the task is done but I don't see any new file such as 4 segments, 10 minutes each one. Has anyone had this problem before? Am I doing something wrong? Help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

Splitting by duration does not work for me either but splitting by file size does. So, click on 'Split by size' and enter the size in MB for the split size (in your case file size divided by 4).

  3. it depends on the version you are using, some come with the executable, some do not. You need to have the mp4box.exe in the same yamb directory (the executable, which it sounds like you are missing)

It sounds like you might have fixed this, so another option is avidemux to manually copy segments

Another option is to use mkvmerge to repackage the mp4, then use the split & cut function. mkv works fine for youtube

Thanks to you both for taking time to respond. Splitting by size is an option I could already have used with MEGUI that I installed here a long time ago and that is running 100% well. BTW, I have installed both applications in the same directory, both are ZIP files and not the executable ones. Anyway, I guess splitting by size is a little imprecise since the duration of each segment is completely different from one another due to "features" on the video such as effects, light, etc. I hope the one who develops Yamb have enough time to fix it soon. Thanks for the links, you guys. Thanks a lot.
    Cheers,
    Mark

Evidently YAMB does not pass the correct duration to MP4BOX so skip it and just use MP4BOX
Go to the command line, change to the directory where MP4BOX is located and type:
MP4BOX -split 60 "C:\myfolder\myfile.mp4" and your file will be split into 60 second chunks.

Interesting remarks, guys; thanks so much for your help. But there are still a few questions.
First question: how to get to the command line of the the MP4Box? lololol (do I exe. the file?
The second one: When I use MEGUI's MP4 muxer tool everything looks ok, but when I upload the video sections at YouT..., it seems some of them (not all) are fully pixelized just at the very beginning, let's say first coulpe of seconds of the first scene and also the audio gets out of synch as the video plays. Does anyone knows why?

OK. Lets say your mp4box is in the C:\mp4 folder, to get to the command line do the following:

    Start --> Run
type: cmd and then hit OK
type: c:\mp4 to get to the folder
type: mp4box -split 600 "C:\myfolder\myfile.mp4" your will be split into 10min segments.

Never uploaded to youtube so someone else would have to help you with that.

Thanks, but I don't see where the command line is for splitting the file in 10 min. Maybe is that "split 600"? I forgot to greet Midzuki. Hi there! Thanks for your advices.

    Not maybe, definitely. 10 minutes x 60 seconds/minute = 600 seconds

Just for the record, the author of YAMB has fixed the splitting by duration problem.
The fix is included in his latest beta
http://kurtnoise.free.fr/Yamb/ and pick the Yamb 2.1.0.0b2 24-Jun-2009 version.
