DVD-VR to DVD-R Question

Hi. Is there a good, easy-to-use utility that will convert DVD-Rs recorded in the VR mode to standard video mode DVD files?

I can only record CPRM digital broadcasts on my Sharp Aquos DVD recorder (Japanese model) in VR mode. These discs in turn can typically only be played back on this unit. I would like to convert these discs to standard video mode, for playback on any DVD player. Any help/advise would be most appreciated. Thanks!
