i have tons of great movies that have the extension .avi
I need to convert them to vcd, but tmpgenc will not recognize them as avi's, although windows media player plays them fine.
Any ideas on what i need to do??

    thanks

  2. I heard someone suggest using virtualdub to check the avi file or repair if necessary although I have not tried it before. Anyone?

Well, i opened the video file in virtual dub, and converted to no compression pcm audio and and recompressed the avi with a divx codec and saved the new avi. this new avi is re-encoding into mpeg as i write this, so it can be done!

    thanks
