Get AnyDVD HD, it will cost you but you will be able to copy and compress any DVD or HD DVD/Blu Ray to standard DVD.

Wrong advice.AnyDvd HD just removes the copy protection and let you copy your movie to hard drive.Just that,no encoding or compression.

To convert your HD DVD (even I don't see apoint in that) to DVD,first you need copy disc to your hard drive .You can use AnyDVD HD for that.Next you have to demux your .EVO files. You can use a number of programs for that: Evo demux or Eac3To are the first come to mind.Next step will depend of what kind of video you have.It could be .AVC,Mpeg2 or VC1.Different video streams require different methods and different software.

  5. You can also use DVDFabDecryptor to rip the HD-DVD to your computer - it is free.
But then you face a pretty complicated set of steps to make it playable on a regular dvd player.

I would try Xvid4psp, it can import EVO files directly. Choose the biggest files. Select the mpeg2 ntsc profile and try convert. Author using a free authoring software like guifordvdauthor.

Can you play the hddvd evo files that you have copied to your hdd? Use a hd dvd player like powerdvd.

    I installed the following :
    FFDShow
    Haali Media Splitter
    AVISynth
( I'm not sure if they affect my work or not !)

After that I've used TsRemux and convert ( or something ) and then I got file (without extention !) and I've opened it with Windows Media Player 11 and it is working fine ! . But its size about 8 GB. Now the resulted file I'm actually as mentioned I dont know what is its extension , I want to its format and how make its standard to burn into normal DVD with 4.7 GB . What shall I do now ?

Thank you everyone for help .

I have a few movies in the now defunct HD-DVD format. I will like to copy them to Dual Layer DVDs in the regular DVD format so that they can be played on a regular DVD player. Is there a simple way to do this? Are there any new programs (software) to do it? I already have a HD-DVD player in my computer and a copy of AnyDVD from Slysoft. Has anyone seen a step by step guide to do this?

I have many of the same questions. I would like to rip my HD-DVD's to my HD using AnyDVD-HD then convert them to 720p, preferably in avi format. I want to make sure i can use them both with XBMC and the PS3. The reason id like to keep them at 720p is because 720p streams perfectly on my home network but 1080p sometimes stutters. Whats the best way to do this once i have the movie ripped to the HD?

    Thanks

Try Ripbot264 and open the evo file and convert to MP4 HD.
