  4. You need MMC 7.6 to upgrade and it's for Radeon chipsets:

    Thanks for the heads up. This solved most all my little anoying problems I was having with my new install of XP. Couldn't have come at a better time. I have an ATI AIW 128 Pro with XP and it seems to be working nicely for what I want.

    I tried MMC 7.6 but sound was bad...

    BTW, I tried to send you an email, but email returned...

    Can this be installed on top of 7.6? Or do I need another complete uninstall and re-install?

    It *must* be installed over 7.6, it's an upgrade, not a full version.

  12. Installed MMC 7.7 and all seems well, but stupid quesion: No template for SVCD capture. Any advice on configuring a custom SVCD profile?

    Thanks

  13. If you can edit the preset in the registry, there is a "Mux Mode" entry.
    It seems that there are multiple values for this:
    0=Standard (DVD MPEG2)
    1=VCD
    2=SVCD

  14. Anyone tried to use this with AIW 128 (non PRO)

  15. I edited the registry as suggested (actually mux mode entry appears several times), created a setting with standard svcd parameters (also tried the preset "Good" which was close, but resulting capture was not "compliant" as far as Nero was concerned.

    Anyone have luck with this?

  16. Yes, but it won't work. The chipset is wrong. The 128 has a BT 829, but it won't work with that chipset.

  17. Called ATI and asked about the 128 PRO and he said that the reason the web site didn't list it as being supported was that they hadn't tested 7.6 with the 128 PRO. Also said the SVCD capture setting on 7.7 had "issues". Hope this helps, Andy

  19. I tried mmc 7.7 and it works pretty darn good. Svcd template works great and now suport for 48 kHz sampling rate for dvd's. I own aiw radeon. Did some captures tonight and played them back on the tv and it looks pretty good.

  20. GF, I may just be dense, but any tips for finding the svcd template in 7.7? I swear I have searched the gui, e-mailed support, read the release notes, etc. .. and can't seem to find the svcd template. I am at my wits end. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

  22. Ok, mental block dislodged. My narrow brain doesn't like to work too hard, so I kept scanning the list of "custom" templates for the initials S-V-C-D. When my lightning fast intellect scanned, each time it came up empty. Uh, at least until last time when I READ, and noticed the funny little template called "Super Video CD".

    Low and behold, it worked and Nero loved it.

    Sorry to pollute the board with my lunacy, but at least I'm big enough to admit it.

    How do I capture in this program. I may looking too hard but I want to capture VHS and make a VCD or DVD. Where do I go first, geeezzz!
    Often people fall short, not because they have tried and failed, but because the fear of failure kept them from trying at all

  24. Someone already asked but I didn't see a reply: Does anyone know if the macrovision fix linked on this site work with 7.7? It sounds better than 7.6 but I don't want the macrovision back.

  25. I tested it and macrovision patch works fine. The mmcregistry tool will not work since it detects it is not 7.5 or 7.6
