  1. I have Nero and I am using a brand new Pioneer 104 DVD burner. I just tried to burn my first DVD but when I try to drag and drop my 1 hour movie I get a message saying that my mpeg film is larger than 2 gigs and cannot be used with the ISO file system. The movie is 2.68 gigs.
Is Pinnacle Studio Version 7 a good video editing program?
    Thanks

Are you just dragging a huge mpeg to Nero?
You must author the video first, www.vcdhelp.com/author.htm#dvd , make menus, chapters and then the authoring tools make the dvd file structure that you can burn directly with the authoring tool or with Nero.

are you just dropping a big mpeg 2 file or a selection of vobs into nero? if that's the case then i'm not surprised it does'nt work. if you want to make a dvd from your own mpeg files then you have to author first with a program like dvd workshop. once you do that you should be ok. if you are backing up a dvd, then select dvd udf/iso and put your video/audio ts files onto it. i backed up south park doing this. it was about 3.7 gb and i did'nt get any size restriction warnings.
baldrick! you got in before me! ah well. that's life i suppose. I'll have to write my posts faster in the future!

  4. Thanks guys,
That makes perfect sense cause that is exactly what I did. I just drop a huge unauthored mpeg file in the lap of Nero and it choked. Would the Pinnacle Studio Deluxe be a good choice? Or should I look at something else? I want an all in one package that will capture, fully edit, and author and flow very smoothly for morons like me.
    Thanks for the patience guys.
